Sai Daeng Beach is approximately 10 minutes from the pier by car. A pick up from the pier can be arranged with advance notice. Please inform us of your arrival details (time of arrival and boat company) if you'd like to use our service.

The most common modes of transport on Koh Tao are motorbikes and automatic scooters. Both are readily available for hire throughout the island, with the main pick up and return points being in the towns of Mae Haad, Chalok Baan Kao, and Sairee. The road to our resort is in great condition but is steep in places, so because of this, we advise our guests to wait until check-in to see it for themselves before making a decision on whether or not to rent.

The resort has a shuttle service that runs daily at 9:00, 14:00, and 17:30 to Mae Haad and returns at 10:00, 15:00, and 18:00. The fare is 100THB person each way.

Taxis can also be arranged upon request - price starts from 300THB for a one way trip.

Absolutely! Our cleaning services are complimentary. Your first room clean will be after your second night and will continue every other day until you check out.

This is highly recommended, yes. Of all the options on Koh Tao, beach accommodation and especially our Koh Tao Villa tend to book up the quickest. So it’s best to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Coral reefs surround Koh Tao, and with them, an array of colorful tropical fish and critters. Most of our guests want to know if they can see turtles and sharks on Koh Tao. The short answer is yes, but it is never guaranteed. We have a resident green turtle that is often seen in Sai Daeng Bay itself, or otherwise in neighboring Shark Bay. Koh Tao is in fact named ‘Turtle Island’ because of its turtle populations in previous years. Blacktip reef sharks can be found in some of our neighboring shallow bays including Shark Bay, Aow Leuk and also further north at Tanote Bay. Don’t worry, they are only babies, and incredibly shy. So you need to have eagle eyes to spot one! Lucky divers at our deeper sites, including nearly Shark Island, do get to see whale sharks from time to time too. So fingers crossed!

We firmly believe that right here at Sai Daeng we have the best beach on Koh Tao! We are one of only two Koh Tao beach hotels to share this beach, so unlike at other bays, Sai Daeng is much more private. Other popular options for beach visits include Aow Leuk, Tanote Bay, and Mango Bay.
